CLARK, Stanley Talbot Claude (1893-1916)

Stanley was the fourth son of John and Harriet Clark (née Ayres). He was born and lived in Drouin. When Stan enlisted for war service on 20 June 1915 he was a 22 year old labourer. Stan left Australia on the HMAT Commonwealth on 26 November 1915. He was in Egypt until March 1916 when he was moved to France. Only one year after he enlisted Stan was officially reported missing in action on 19 July near Fleurbaix at the Battle of Fromelles. His body was never found and a Commission of Inquiry on the field in August 1918 pronounced him killed in action.  His name is recorded on the Dixons Creek Honor Roll because both his parents had siblings living in Dixons Creek.
