YARRA GLEN HONOR ROLL

The original Yarra Glen Honor Roll was donated to the Trustees of the Memorial Hall by the Ladies Auxiliary in September 1930. It was made of blackwood and the newspaper report states that it had '138 names inscribed on it,  33 of whom had paid the supreme sacrifice'.  This Honor Roll was destroyed when the Memorial Hall was burnt down in 1951. A new honor roll made of marble has replaced it. This honor roll lists only the names of those who died while serving overseas: 32 servicemen from World War I and 9 names of servicemen from World War II.
