WAIGHT, Reginald Norman (1890-1916)
Born in November 1890. Third child of Henry Waight and Elizabeth (Jane) Norman who farmed at Bracken Lea Dixons Creek.
Reg was 25 when he enlisted on 22 June 1915. He left Melbourne on 15 September 1915. He was posted with 14th Battalion to Gallipoli in November 1915. Reg arrived in France in June 1916 by which time he had been transferred to the 46th Battalion. Reg was killed in action during the defence of Pozieres Ridge on 13 August 1916.
Reg is commemorated on the Yarra Glen Honour Roll, Yarra Glen War Memorial, Dixons Creek Roll of Honor and the Kangaroo Ground Honour Board.
