DE CASTELLA, Rudolph (185988)

Rudolph was the son of Paul and Lilly de Castella of Yering. He was only 29 when he died as the result of a fall from his horse in Dixons Creek, believed to have been caused by an epileptic fit. The Municipal Directory 1886 & 1888 lists him as a Justice for the Eltham Shire.  The Yarra Glen street that is now called Anzac Avenue was once known as Rudolph Street in his memory.
